Hi, I’m Nate. Like everyone else during the Covid lockdown I was missing traveling a lot – especially eating abroad. To suppress the FOMO, I started to plan all the culinary trips I was going to take in a post-covid world.
As everyone in Seattle made a push to keep our beloved restaurants alive, I realized that they could be a channel for that connection everyone was missing. Experiencing a traditional meal cooked by unique people, with unique ingredients, in a unique way beat any other medium for at-home “travel”. An endless list of chefs in Seattle were serving really good food from their homeland – and I hadn’t scratched the surface.
I started asking chefs what makes their culture’s people and cuisine unique, and they happily shared stories and recipes. Taste of Elsewhere is where those conversations are gathered, and I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as I did.
